Does my Child need a Healthy Diet?

I was asked this question recently by someone I know.

The Answer is yes.

Which led me to thinking. A lot of the People I know, don't take the Time to feed their Kids right.
Now, don't think I'm perfect. CutiePie gets the occasional Cookie or Candy. The thing I'm talking about is the fact that some Parents are too Lazy. They give their Kids Hot Dogs, Bologna and Microwave Food as the Main Diet. Another Mom I know cooks Hamburger Helpers every Day. Yes, I cook Hamburger Helper, but only once or twice a month. Also, I serve Veggies and Fruits with that. A child needs Nutrition. Of the good kind.

Everybody lives such a busy life, that often Healthy Meals take a back burner. How hard is it to cook a nutritious Meal everyday? IMO, not very hard. I do it every day. Take some kind of Meat ( or Fish or Chicken. Preferably Lean and Organic.) , fresh Vegetables ( usually 2 kinds of veggies, since Potato in any form is a must for TheHubby and CutiePie), Grains of any Kind, Salad, Fruits for Dessert. There, not that hard.

In fact, most of the Time CutiePie prefers Fruits or Veggies to Candies or Cookies. I see the difference between my Kid and the other Kids. CutiePie is rarely ever sick. He looks much healthier than most kids. It's important to me that CutiePie has a healthy Diet. It sets the Foundation for when he's older. He will know what's Good for him.

Obesity is such an Issue now. I don't want my Kid to suffer. A few simple steps can prevent a lifelong suffering.

Speaking of healthy children, is it bad if I scold a parent who is smoking around their kid?

I've done it before, and while I know it's right, it's also wrong, because it's not my kid.

I think you are right: as a parent it's important to serve your child healthy meals. I cook a fresh meal everyday and I take care to have fresh vegetables, potatoes and some meat or fish.

But I do think it's easier for me to do this as a stay at home mom than for working moms, who have less time.
